It Appears As If Randy Orton Is Definitely Entering The United States Championship Picture
On last night's SmackDown Live, Randy Orton squared off with United States Champion Bobby Roode and interviews with both men from after the show went off the air make it clear that this rivalry isn't over.
WWE hasn't been doing much with Randy Orton for a while now (a feud with him and AJ Styles leading into Fastlane would have arguably been way more interesting than what we're getting) but the signs are now pointing to him moving into the United States Championship picture. Following last night's SmackDown Live, The Viper made it clear that he wants to hold the prestigious title.
Considering the fact that Jinder Mahal attacked him and current champion Bobby Roode, we could be looking at a rivalry featuring all three men but what exactly does that mean for Roode's reign?
Having him beat Orton (and to a much lesser extent, Mahal) would definitely help the Glorious One get over in the eyes of wrestling fans but what this means for WrestleMania definitely isn't clear right now. Could we see him and Orton clash at the Showcase of the Immortals? It's not a bad option by any means and a Triple Threat match at Fastlane would be a good way to build towards that.
