It Doesn't Sound Like Brock Lesnar Will Defend The Universal Championship At MONEY IN THE BANK

Brock Lesnar's current WWE deal is still being kept a closely guarded secret by the company but a new report points to The Beast not having to defend the Universal Championship at Money in the Bank next month.

Much to the horror of wrestling fans everywhere, Monday saw WWE tease the possibility of yet another match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. During last night's RAW, the company attempted to paint the Big Dog as a sympathetic figure who was screwed out of the title, something no one is buying into and a storyline which clearly won't work.

Regardless, while WWE may have teased a Reigns vs. Lesnar match at Money in the Bank, Dave Meltzer has revealed that the champion is no longer scheduled to make an appearance at the show.

As of right now, it's entirely feasible that we'll next see The Beast at SummerSlam, a far more fitting stage for him to lose the title (it's also been rumoured that he'll square off with Bobby Lashley in a "dream match" at the event). Either way, WWE is doing its best to keep Lesnar's contract status a mystery to us so him losing the Universal Championship comes as a complete surprise.
