It Doesn't Sound Like Rey Mysterio Will Be Returning To WWE On A Full-Time Basis

If you were hoping that Rey Mysterio (who returned during last night's Royal Rumble PPV) would become part of 205 Live, RAW, or SmackDown Live, you may be disappointed to read this update on his WWE status.

This year's Royal Rumble featured plenty of fun surprises but perhaps the biggest came when Rey Mysterio made his WWE return. All week, we'd been hearing that the likes of The Undertaker or Rockstar Spud might show up in the match but there was nothing about the fan-favourite former WWE Champion and that made his appearance particularly exciting for wrestling fans.

Despite the fact that Mysterio shares his gratitude for the response he got from the WWE Universe in the video below, a new report claims that everyone in the company was kept in the dark about his return and that it's currently scheduled to be a one-time appearance as he hasn't signed any sort of deal with WWE. That ruins those hopes of him saving 205 Live in that case then.

Mysterio's future is now a mystery and while it's possible that he'll end up signing with Impact Wrestling, don't be surprised if he has one final WWE run in him before a Hall of Fame induction!
