It Doesn't Sound Like SMACKDOWN LIVE Trio The New Day Will Be Breaking Up Anytime Soon
Despite speculation to the contrary, a new report indicates that popular Smackdown Live team The New Day won't be splitting up anytime soon. Find out what WWE likely has planned for the trio after the jump...
When The Usos regained the WWE Smackdown Live Tag-Team titles from The New Day at SummerSlam this past Sunday, some began to speculate that this might be the end for the still mega-popular trio - however, that doesn't seem to be the case.
According to the usually-reliable Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, WWE still has big plans for Xavier, Kofi and Big-E. Apparently, the company wants to push The New Day as the tag-team with the most title reigns in addition to having the longest reign. That current record is held by The Dudleys who have held the titles 9 times.
This likely explains why they lost the straps back to The Usos so quickly, and we'll probably be seeing many more exchanges between the two teams in the coming months.
