At SummerSlam this past Saturday, WWE Hall of Famer Edge beat Seth Rollins in what proved to be one of the best matches on the show.
After feuding with Randy Orton on RAW, the Rated R Superstar made the leap to SmackDown to pursue Roman Reigns' Universal Championship earlier this year. Ultimately, he was unsuccessful in capturing the title, and now he's dealt with Rollins, many fans are wondering what's left for him to do on the blue brand moving forward.
Well, there's now an indication that Edge is going to be returning to the Monday night show.
On the WWE Shop website, he's listed as being a RAW Superstar, an indication that the company is preparing to move him from SmackDown. It's possible this is a mistake, of course, especially as Edge remains listed as being part of the blue brand on the main WWE website.
Following his match at the PPV, Edge talked about rolling back the clock by putting on his classic Brood gear to face Rollins. "Seth lit something inside of me, and pushed me into a really, really dark place," he said. "It’s not fun to go there because as it’s hard to come out of there. But I knew I needed to, because I would give Seth all the credit in the world in terms of his ability, and what he can do in the ring. He’s almost unmatched, and I knew that going in."
"I knew that if he hit the Stomp, it was trouble for me and possibly the end of my career."
We'll keep you updated if any further details are revealed about Edge's WWE future, but it's likely he's going to take some time off as he's wrestled a lot more than most expected in 2021.
