It Seems As If Lana Has Plans For Rusev And Shinsuke Nakamura As A Tag Team

Despite being enemies, it appears as if Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura may have a future as a tag team as Lana has brought the two former United States Champions together...which means the death of Rusev Day!

Rusev turned heel on SmackDown Live a couple of weeks ago and shockingly aligned himself with Shinsuke Nakamura in the process (despite losing the United States title to him the night before).

Last Tuesday, they teamed up to take on The Club in a match which saw them emerge with a big win. Now, in an unaired segment from last night's episode, Lana convinces both Rusev and Nakamura to put their differences aside and form a team because she has a plan for them.

In the process, she heavily implies that the Rusev Day gimmick is now at an end and it's hard to escape the feeling WWE missed a trick there.

Regardless, it will be very interesting seeing how an alliance between these two is handled as it would be a shame for them to fall into the typical foreign heel gimmick without any character development to go with it. As always, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated.
