On this week's SmackDown Live, we learned that Paige will reveal AJ Styles' challenger for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. It appears as if WWE is skipping a series of matches to decide a #1 contender and the General Manager will instead name the Superstar based on their merits alone.

So, who fits the bill? Daniel Bryan and The Miz are clearly on a collision course at the PPV while Randy Orton is taking aim at Jeff Hardy so that doesn't leave a lot of possibilities. However, there's one man who would be the perfect opponent for Styles and that's his old TNA playmate Samoa Joe.

Now, a Tweet sent out by Joe yesterday has caused speculation to mount that he will indeed be named the new #1 contender, thereby creating a WWE dream match in the process. Whether or not he'll actually dethrone the Phenomenal One is another matter, especially as Styles is the WWE 2K19 cover star.
