There was a lot of excitement among wrestling fans when WWE announced that Alexa Bliss was returning, though she's so far been confined to backstage therapy sessions on RAW. It appears the plan is to revert the former Women's Champion to her old pre-Fiend persona, though that could have been achieved by a Royal Rumble return and a quick promo saying she'd got past her issues!
Alas, WWE's creative team is clearly taking it slow as Fightful reports that nine therapy segments have been taped in total...and we've only seen three of them.
That means Bliss won't be stepping back into the ring for at least six weeks, leaving little to no time for her to set up a WrestleMania feud. It's possible more than one of these segments will be aired on upcoming episodes of RAW, but this delay is likely to disappoint a lot of fans.
After all, we haven't seen Bliss wrestle since she lost to Charlotte Flair last September. WWE building hype is one thing, but this does something of a disservice to the talented Superstar as she'd be a real asset to the company's women's division on the Road to WrestleMania. It's possible Bliss is still dealing with nagging injuries and this is a calculated delay, so we'll see things pan out from here.
