WrestleMania is rapidly approaching and while we thought we knew what this year's card would look like, it still remains very much up in the air. That's particularly the case with Braun Strowman and this week alone has seen reports surface of him being added to both the Universal Championship match (or kept as backup if Brock Lesnar is a no-show) or the Intercontinental Championship bout.
Well, Dave Meltzer has now attempted to clarify things and it's clear that WWE is no closer to figuring things out. He confirms that Braun Strowman was originally going to face The Mix but that was changed because officials felt like it was more important to have him as backup for the main event should things go wrong for Roman Reigns (who could get caught up in a steroid scandal) or Lesnar.
If Strowman doesn't end up in a title match, Meltzer notes that, "I guess he could work with Elias. I guess if Samoa Joe’s ready he could work with Samoa Joe. If they decree I guess they could make that Brock Lesnar/Roman Reigns a three-way. I mean they could do that as well and perhaps they should." So, we're either going to get a filler match or something awesome!
With any luck it will be the latter because seeing Strowman finally win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania would be great and arguably what he deserves after his fantastic rise up the ranks.
