It Sounds Like The American Badass Version Of The Undertaker Is Now Here To Stay

During this year's WrestleMania, The Undertaker returned to his "American Badass" persona for that Boneyard match against AJ Styles. Now, it sounds like that will be sticking around for the foreseeable future!

On Sunday night, The Undertaker returned as the American Badass to battle AJ Styles in a Boneyard match. Now, it's looking like he may be sticking with that persona moving forward. Despite a stint as a motorbike riding badass during the Ruthless Aggression era, much of his career has been spent portraying The Deadman, so a change is arguably overdue.

According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, whenever The Undertaker chooses to make his WWE return, it will be as the American Badass again.

It's been said that the point of the Boneyard match was to rebuild his image after some disappointing matches he's had, including that infamous bout with Goldberg in Saudi Arabia. It's clear that traditional wrestling matches have become difficult for The Undertaker in recent years, and at 55, cinematic matches like the one he had at WrestleMania could be a great option for him.

There have been hints that he's planning to retire, and we still don't know whether that will be the case. However, if his match against Styles at the Show of Shows was his last one, then it's fair to say that the Phenom has gone out on a high.

With Survivor Series marking his 30th anniversary with WWE, though, he'll no doubt be celebrated in some way at the event later this year.
