James Ellsworth returned to WWE to help Carmella retain her Women's Championship in a match against Asuka and has remained by her side ever since. While bringing him back was certainly an interesting enough idea, his act almost immediately started feeling stale and Ellsworth finally got his comeuppance last night after challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.

Clearly sick of his annoying antics, Paige - who has clashed with Ellsworth multiple times recently - decided to fire him and ordered security to remove him from the arena before she threw him out.

There is, of course, a very strong chance we'll see him in WWE again somewhere down the line as he is well-liked by people in the company and has a good reputation backstage. This latest run is bound to get him even more booking on the independent scene and increase interest in his podcast, so it's definitely a win for him in the long run!
