Could we see Jeff Hardy as a future WWE Universal Champion?
While that’s certainly not a guarantee, it does appear that the former WWE Champion receive a nice push, according to wrestlingnews.co. It’s no secret that Vince McMahon has always viewed Jeff Hardy as a big star and the 42-year-old’s popularity is mostly due to his daredevil style and highflying ability. McMahon is reportedly impressed with Hardy’s determination to get clean, with the Smackdown star going into inpatient rehab for the first time ever in 2019.
Also, McMahon is hoping to keep Hardy away from All Elite Wrestling. Vince wants the North Carolina native to view WWE as the better option when it comes to re-signing a new contract. There’s no word on how big Hardy will be pushed up the card; however, WWE’s use of the Smackdown star could be akin to Rey Mysterio, where Jeff Hardy isn’t exactly at the top of the card, but is still used prominently.
At least a year has been added to Jeff’s contract so he won’t be leaving anytime soon. According to backstage sources, it doesn’t sound like Jeff Hardy is in a rush to leave WWE; however, the situation can always change in the coming months.
With the loss of Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, and of course, Matt Hardy, Vince is trying to make sure that big name talents aren’t given a reason to jump ship to the other company.
