There have been rumblings for a while now that some big NXT releases are coming, and WWE has indeed made a series of cuts today. Fightful is reporting that Alexander Wolfe, Vanessa Borne, Jessamyn Duke, and Kavita Devi have all been let go, while PWInsider later added Skyler Story and Ezra Judge to that list.
Budget cuts are cited as the reason, and there are some legitimate surprises here.
Wolfe was signed by WWE in 2015. The former NXT Tag Team Champion was part of SAnitY, and remained with the faction until it was disbanded in 2019. He later joined Imperium in NXT UK, and was allowed to wrestle for wXw during that time. Wolfe was actually on this week's NXT when he lost in a squash match to Killian Dain before Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner turned on him.
Duke is another surprise seeing as she's one of the Four Horsewomen of the MMA and a close friend of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler's. While he was aligned with the latter in NXT and once part of RAW Underground, she's most recently been working on the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel.
As for Born, she joined WWE in 2016 and after signing a new deal in 2020, she was called up to the main roster. However, a RAW or SmackDown debut never took place, and she's been M.I.A. ever since.
Story, Judge, and Devi are relatively new signees and have never really been used on TV. They've made sporadic appearances, but that's about it, unfortunately.
