Je'Von Evans Almost Suspended On NXT, Booked For WWE Vengeance Day Match

Je'Von Evans narrowly avoided being suspended on tonight's episode of NXT, but he may have a more brutal punishment in store for him soon for Vengeance Day.

On tonight's episode of WWE NXT, there was nearly a storyline suspension put in the works, but instead, it turned into a match being tentatively announced for the next premium live event.

In a backstage segment, NXT General Manager Ava was standing between Ethan Page and Je'Von Evans, accompanied by four members of the security team (aka, either four local wrestlers or people from the Performance Center / NIL / LFG recruits who have yet to properly debut). She informed Evans that since he had previously attacked some of the members of the security team, she was going to suspend him, as that kind of behavior cannot be tolerated.

Ethan Page offered up another solution, though, saying that if Ava really wants to punish Evans, she should book him in a match against Page. As these two have been feuding for the past few months and Page is responsible for Evans needing to get his jaw wired shut, that is indeed a viable threat, but one that Evans is willing to put himself up against, as he's been campaigning for a match against Page to get some revenge. Most recently, Page defeated Cedric Alexander, who has been teaming with and mentoring Evans since rejoining the NXT brand last year.

Ava agreed to Page's idea, booking the match for the upcoming Vengeance Day premium live event, but under the condition that Evans gets medically cleared to compete. Nothing has been stated about any repercussions if he doesn't get medically cleared, but we can assume that would just be delaying the inevitable match and not that the suspension idea would be brought back up again.

Though that match has not yet been made official, we can assume that will be announced next week on NXT to confirm these two will face off. Otherwise, this could be WWE's attempt to put it out there with the idea that they can pull it and it wouldn't have been set in stone.

In any case, if that is added to the lineup, that puts the current card announced for WWE Vengeance Day 2025 to be the following matches:

  • Triple Threat for the NXT Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller)
  • Triple Threat for the NXT Women’s Championship: Giulia (c) vs. Bayley vs. Roxanne Perez
  • Singles Match for the NXT Women’s North American Championship: Fallon Henley (c) vs. Stephanie Vaquer
  • Je’Von Evans vs. Ethan Page — pending Evans being medically cleared
