It's been nearly four years since CM Punk walked out of WWE after competing in the Royal Rumble match in Pittsburgh and despite his disastrous UFC debut, there's been no indication that he'll ever return to the squared circle. That hasn't stopped fans from wishing it will happen, though, and now WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has shared his thoughts on how WWE could make it a reality.
Unfortunately, this isn't a Stone Cold Steve Austin/Vince McMahon situation that Ross could mediate but his idea still makes for interesting reading and it's an admittedly pretty nice thought.
"I would try to figure out a way if there’s one more run in CM Punk. And ‘one more run’ to me means this: a WrestleMania, not 10, not two, not three, a WrestleMania. Start with let’s build to the right build and the crescendo is WrestleMania. And the only other way I’d do him is have him return at WrestleMania and not be on television. Sign, train, vignettes, vignettes, little angle, boom. His first match is WrestleMania. Yeah, that way there’s no pressure on anybody."
One of the main reasons Punk left WWE is because he never headlined a WrestleMania so that would be one way to get him back but he appears to have zero interest in wrestling again.
