Jinder Mahal has taken to Instagram to reveal that he's had to have surgery to repair some knee issues, and will (presumably) be out of action for a significant amount of time.
The Modern Day Maharajah only returned to Raw a few weeks ago after already being on the shelf for several months. He picked up a dominant win over Akira Tozawa, and the commentators made a big deal out of the fact that he's a former WWE Champion. This led to speculation that a renewed push might be in the cards, and there were rumors that he may ultimately challenge former 3-Man Band teammate Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship.
The Scottish Superstar recently hinted that this might be the long-term plan, but that feud is obviously going to have to be put on hold for now.
Mahal doesn't specify how long he'll need to spend away from the ring in his post, but with any kind of surgery like this there's usually a minimum 4-6 months recovery time. That's obviously a shame, but we look forward to seeing him back stronger than ever fairly soon .
