John Cena put in a rare appearance on SmackDown this week, and he officially accepted Bray Wyatt's challenge for a Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania.
Cena cut a pretty good promo on Wyatt (it wasn't as impressive as the one WWE reshot after the show, but more on that later), promising that he was going to "squash" him and finish the job he started the last time the faced-off. At that, the Fun House puppets (Ramblin' Rabbit, Mercy the Buzzard etc) all popped up at various points around the ring, before The Fiend himself appeared on the perch.
After a brief stare-down, the lights went out and Wyatt's Mr. Rogers persona appeared behind Cena, said "let me in," and vanished again. As silly as this was, it did kind of work. The segment was well edited and Bray appearing right beside Cena made for an effective jump-scare.
It remains to be seen if their match will go as well, of course, but it's certainly one of the more intriguing bouts on the card.
