These days, John Cena is so busy with his Hollywood commitments that we rarely get to see him compete in a wrestling ring. Now, his 2019 just got even busier as it's been revealed that the sixteen-time WWE Champion is in talks to join the cast of The Suicide Squad.
Directed by Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn, it's thought that Cena will take on the role of Peacemaker, a part which was originally set to be filled by Dave Bautista.
His scheduling commitments (and the fact he's part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe) meant that couldn't happen, so Gunn clearly felt that another wrestler would be right to fill the role. This is arguably an even bigger role for Cena than Bumblebee and it's easy to imagine The Suicide Squad being his highest-grossing movie to date.
We'll keep you updated but the DC Comics adaptation is scheduled to be released next August.
