John Cena Is Now Rumored To Be Going To WRESTLEMANIA To Face... Elias!?

Oh dear. Amid rumor and speculation relating to which WWE Superstar John Cena might be facing at WrestleMania, the latest report indicates that the Leader of the C Nation may be going one-on-one with Elias.

There have been conflicting reports relating to John Cena's opponent for WrestleMania, with one reliable source claiming that he may be going up against either Goldberg or Bray Wyatt. Most fans would probably be okay with either one of the those matches, but what about Elias?

According to Dave Meltzer, that is indeed the plan.

During their latest Wrestling Observer Radio segment, Meltzer told Brian Alvarez that even though he thinks it's "so underwhelming it’s ridiculous, and absolutely confusing and makes no sense,” Elias is indeed being lined up to go one-on-one with Cena on the grandest stage of them all.

There is actually some history there, as Cena interrupted Elias with his "Doctor of Thuganomics" gimmick at 'Mania 35 and the bit got a huge pop. But we're pretty sure that was for Cena spitting raps, and not for Elias and his guitar shtick!

Look, Elias is a talented Superstar and is at least semi-over, but this sounds like another Kurt Angle having his retirement match against Baron Corbin scenario to us. What do you guys think?
