John Cena Is Reportedly Booked For A Match At WRESTLEMANIA... But Doesn't Have An Opponent Yet
Plans have seemingly fallen through for Lars Sullivan to take on John Cena at WrestleMania, which leaves The Leader of the C-Nation without an opponent on The Grandest Stage of Them All. More past the jump.
It looks like John Cena is going to WrestleMania, we just don't know who he'll be facing.
As you're probably well aware, WWE's original plan was for former NXT Superstar Lars Sullivan to attack John Cena on TV and set the stage for a match between the two at 'Mania. However, a spanner was thrown in the works when The Freak went AWOL (we still have no idea what's going on there) and they settled for writing Cena off television for a while with an ankle injury sustained during a match involving Drew McIntyre.
Now, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Cena is still booked for WrestleMania, but does not have a confirmed opponent.
Cena’s is due to finish shooting his latest film Playing With Fire just six days before the massive event, so WWE won't have much time in front of the camera to set up a match. Could they simply go with The Scottish Phycopath if Sullivan proves to be a no show? We'll just have to wait and see.
