We don't see a whole lot of John Cena in a WWE ring these days but he did return for the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia and will be in Australia to square off with Kevin Owens a little later this year. Now, it's been confirmed that the leader of the Cenation is going to be part of WWE's planned live event in Shanghai, China on September 1st for an exciting sounding six-man tag team match.
Apparently, the former WWE Champion will team up with Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor for a match against Baron Corbin, Elias, and Jinder Mahal. This will be Cena's first match since April when he squared off with Triple H shortly after his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Right now, it's thought that Cena won't actually return to WWE TV until next year's WrestleMania season.
Fans in Shanghai will get to see a very different looking Cena, that's for sure, because he recently lost 18lbs for a movie he'll star in opposite Jackie Chan. Right now, the leader of the Cenation is clearly putting WWE on the backburner to focus on acting but when you look at the success Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has found, it's hard to blame him. As always, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated.
