John Cena's ROYAL RUMBLE Match Participation In Question After Reportedly Suffering An Injury

It looks like John Cena may not be participating in the Royal Rumble match at Sunday's big event after all, as WWE has officially announced that he suffered an ankle injury during last Monday's Fatal 4-Way main event on Raw.

According to their report, Cena was hurt when Drew McIntyre locked an ankle lock (which he seems to have appropriated from Kurt Angle), and the accompanying video does show John favoring his leg after the spot and limping backstage after the match. However, many believe that WWE could be working us here in the hopes of making Cena's entrance a surprise.

It is unusual for the company to announce an injury in this manner while leaving the Superstar's status up in the air, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens this Sunday.
