Johnny Gargano recently turned heel at the NXT TakeOver: Portland event, but it's hard to imagine many fans disagreeing with recent comments he made during an interview with TMZ. Making it clear that he believes NXT is the best wrestling show out there today, he also took aim at those that refer to the brand as "developmental."

"That’s BS. That’s complete garbage, and it’s something that me and a lot of guys have worked to dispel for a very long time," Gargano said of NXT not being viewed as equal to RAW and SmackDown. "Anybody out there that uses the words ‘main roster’ when talking about Raw and SmackDown, how about you watch the show on Wednesday night."

"You’ll see the real main roster. You’ll see the best wrestling show on the planet. You will see the best locker room on the planet led by me. 'Main roster,’ ‘developmental,’ you’re stupid if you use those words. You’re stupid! Quit it!"

It's a fair point, and while Gargano makes some bold claims here, it's easy enough to see where he's coming from. If nothing else, you have to admire how much stock he puts in NXT, a brand he's clearly keen to remain part of and help make every bit as big a deal as WWE's other shows.
