In the main event of tonight's edition of WWE NXT, the next challenger for Stephanie Vaquer's NXT Women's Championship was settled, and La Primera now has her opponent for WWE Battleground, set for May 25, 2025 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
This match featured Giulia and Jordynne Grace battle it out for a shot at the top prize in the top women's division in pro wrestling, while a few others like Lola Vice, Izzi Dame, and Lash Legend all put their names out there as being "next in line" after Battleground was over in backstage segments earlier.
During the very physical match, there was a moment where Giulia landed on her head, which was a nasty spill that looked as if it could have caused an injury. Corey Graves couldn't help but to react with "Oh god" as the referee checked on Giulia, who was at least able to continue for the rest of the match, which may indicate it looked worse than it actually was. More on that if the story changes.
Ultimately, what won Grace the match was a series of backfists, followed by a Juggernaut Driver (seemingly renamed Beast Mode) for the pinfall.
After the match, La Primera came out to have a pose-off with Grace, holding up the title for a face-to-face to hype their upcoming match.

An interesting thing to ponder out of this is whether or not this is a sign Giulia will be called up to the main roster soon, along with assumingly Roxanne Perez, given how much time they've spent on Monday Night Raw and how they've now crossed off everything left to do in NXT.
That brings the current lineup for the WWE Battleground 2025 card to the following:
- NXT Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) vs. Myles Borne
- NXT Women's Championship Match: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
- TNA World Championship Match: Joe Hendry (c) vs. Trick Williams
