As has become the norm, the names heading into the WWE Hall of Fame leaked a few weeks back, but WWE has today confirmed that Jushin "Thunder" Liger is the next inductee. One of the biggest names in Japanese wrestling history, his career has spanned five decades and ended at this past January's Wrestle Kingdom 14.
He spent some time in WCW in the 90s, and his matches with Brian Pillman were an undeniable highlight during the company's early years (and before it became all about Hulk Hogan and the nWo).
Liger has only wrestled for WWE once and that was against Tyler Breeze in a steller match at 2015's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. He's also competed for the likes of Dragon Gate, Michinoku Pro Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Noah.
Now, he joins a WWE Hall of Fame class which includes Dave Bautista, the nWo, The Bella Twins, JBL, and "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith. Whether the event is going ahead is currently unclear.
