Kane Opens Up On His Decision To Wrestle At The CROWN JEWEL PPV In Saudi Arabia

WWE came under fire for holding the Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia and while a number of Superstars were reportedly unhappy about having to perform there, only John Cena and Daniel Bryan decided to give it a miss. However, one person who really came under fire was Kane, especially as he had recently been named the mayor of Knox County in his home state just weeks before.

During a recent Reddit AMA, the former WWE Champion was asked why he decided to go through with the show (where he wrestled Triple H and Shawn Michaels alongside The Undertaker).

"Because WWE donated $100,000 to the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation which was arranged long before the controversy," he explained. "I made a commitment to our local first responders, and I wasn’t willing to break that." Honestly, that's fair enough and the money no doubt helped massively so at least something good ended coming out of the controversial show.
