Kane Pinning Finn Balor Clean On RAW This Past Monday Is Said To Have Left Even WWE Officials Perplexed

Many fans were left confused and more than a little pissed off when Kane pinned Finn Balor clean in the middle on this past Monday's instalment of RAW, and as it turns out they weren't the only ones...

This past Monday on RAW, Finn Balor answered Kane's open challenge and was pinned by the Big Red Machine with very little effort and three chokeslams.

What's the big deal, you may ask?

Well, Balor just came off a huge win over AJ Styles at TLC and the Irishman's fans were hoping this would signify that he was ready go on and challenge for The Universal tile (or compete in the main even picture, at least), but to be beaten in such a fashion is obviously going to slow his momentum.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reached out to his contacts backstage to ask them why Kane went over Balor in this manner, and they were reportedly as baffled by the decision as the fans were.

Kane picking up a big victory isn't that surprising since he's being pushed as the monster of old, but did Balor really have to be the sacrificial demon in that scenario? Who does that help at the end of the day?
