Kane Reportedly Has A Broken Ankle After Being Attacked Backstage By The Bludgeon Brothers

In a rather disappointing end to that Team Hell No reunion, it seems Kane will return to that mayoral race because WWE claims that the Big Red Machine suffered a broken ankle at Extreme Rules last night.

Team Hell No's reunion was welcomed by fans but things ended in disappointment last night at Extreme Rules. In a backstage segment near the start of the show, The Bludgeon Brothers attacked Kane and Daniel Bryan backstage, taking a mallet to the Devil's Favourite Demon. That meant Bryan wrestled most of the match alone but Kane - wearing a boot - did end up attempting to help out.

Unfortunately, that didn't make a huge amount of difference and Luke Harper and Erick Rowan retained the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships. Now, WWE has announced that x-rays have shown that Kane suffered a broken ankle after their attack, something which obviously means he won't be teaming up with the leader of the Yes Movement for quite some time to come now.

It's not clear if this is a legitimate injury (there are rumours that Kane was seen walking around the arena wearing a boot hours before the show started) or storyline based but Kane is obviously running for Knox County Mayor outside of WWE so it's possible this reunion was only ever going to be temporary to get the Bludgeon Brothers over. With any luck, things will become clear this coming Tuesday.
