WWE once again shocked and angered fans last week by releasing a number of popular NXT and main roster Superstars. The likes of Kieth Lee and Karrion Kross were top stars in the developmental brand, but as soon as they hit the main roster...well, it was all downhill from there thanks to Vince McMahon.
According to Wade Keller, Lee had grown frustrated with the way he was being booked in WWE. Not exactly a surprise, eh? "Keith Lee, who I have chronicled for months and months, was somebody that even people that were rooting for him behind the scenes, became frustrated with him."
"He just had, in general, attitude issues or, as one wrestler told me tonight, perceived attitude issues," Keller explains. "Hedging a little bit, others have said outright attitude problems and he just was frustrated. I’ve heard different things about him in terms of his mood being altered way more than it should in the modern era about being asked to do a job."
He makes some interesting points there, but to go from being a top star in NXT and someone fans wanted to see face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania to a jobber in goofy ring gear...well, that sucks.
Lee was gone for some time after battling complications related to COVID-19 and was recently given the new "Bearcat" gimmick. That didn't resonate with fans, and he's made it clear it wasn't his idea. Now, we wait to see what he does next, but it would be shocking for him to not soon be dubbed "All Elite."
As always, stay tuned for updates.
