WWE may have announced that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will return "soon" but it doesn't seem as if either man will step back into the squared circle as soon as we all thought! According to Bryan Alvarez on today's Wrestling Observer Live, it boiled down to WWE simply wanting to excite fans when they started airing those video packages alongside those promos hyping some NXT callups

"Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn – they’re not gonna be back probably until February I would guess," he reveals. "Maybe they’ll be back a little early. But when they were making all of their announcements, that was something else they could tell the fans." In other words, we probably shouldn't expect to see either man as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match this month.

It was earlier this month that Zayn told Chris Jericho that he's nowhere near ready to return so it's odd that WWE is getting fans excited for returns which could still be months away. Stay tuned as always!
