Roman Reigns shocked everyone when he walked out of WrestleMania, but his wife being pregnant with twins meant he wasn't willing to put their health at risk by competing in the midst of a pandemic. Since then, Sami Zayn has seemingly decided not to attend WWE shows, and Kevin Owens also recently decided to head home.
During an appearance on this week's WWE's The Bump, the former Universal Champion explained his decision, and revealed that he's travelled to Tennessee with his family and his now staying in a remote cabin with them.
"I mean I’m great, I’ve always been great, due to the circumstances that happened over the last week..the positive coronavirus test that happened in the company I thought it was wiser for me to stay with my family that day," Owens explained. "I told the people in charge of my decision and they [WWE] didn’t even flinch. They were like, ‘Okay.’ That’s it."
"You know there’s no push-back I mean I don’t think there would be push back on anybody, but also they know once I make my mind up that’s the way it’s gonna be. They were respectful of my decision. I’m glad that I took it and I figured it was the best thing for my family."
This lines up with recent reports that Owens' wife's grandfather recently passed away from COVID-19, so no one can blame him for making the decision to stay at home (and based on what's happening in WWE right now, his choice was a wise one).
