It appears that we have a reason why Dolph Ziggler was randomly inserted into the WWE title picture on Smackdown Live.

In an exclusive report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, Kevin Owens informed WWE officials that he didn’t want to work the upcoming show in Saudi Arabia. There’s no reasoning at the moment on why Owens has decided against going back to the city, but based on Tuesday night’s show, his wishes to not wrestle at Super Showdown seems to have been granted.

There’s no word on whether officials will change plans for Owens to be in the main event picture on Smackdown going forward. Owens is being advertised for a Triple Threat match with Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules in July, thus signaling that the feud between the former Universal champion and Kingston was set to continue.

As previously mentioned, Dolph Ziggler will now face Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship at Super Showdown.
