Kevin Owens has been teasing his return over the past few weeks in a series of promos, and the former Universal Champion made his comeback tonight on SmackDown LIVE.

Just as Kofi Kingston was about to sign the contract to face Daniel Bryan at the Fastlane PPV, Vince McMahon's music hit and The Chairman introduced Owens as the man he had decided to replace the New Day member with.

KO then signed the contract without a word, as he and Bryan glared at each other from across the table.

Is Kofi really out of the Fastlane match? Possibly, but there's a good chance he will get that title shot at WrestleMania if he doesn't before.

What did you guys make of this surprising development? Sound off down below.
