Kevin Owens spent most of the past year feuding with The Bloodline, with the storyline largely reaching its conclusion when he and Sami Zayn beat The Usos for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania.
Now, Zayn is focusing on The Judgement Day and Owens has been moved to SmackDown where he's pursuing Logan Paul's United States title (all while dealing with the irritating Austin Theory and Grayson Waller). However, with the Royal Rumble fast approaching, could another run at the world title be in the cards for KO?
Owens faced the Head of the Table at this past January's Royal Rumble PLE and failed to capture the title thanks to intervention from the then-heel Zayn. He'd clashed with Reigns several times before then as well, including when the former NXT Champion was a heel.
As a result, Owens admits that he's not looking for another rematch. Why? He doesn't believe fans want it.
"I'll be honest - maybe a little too honest. I don't think the fans would like that [a rematch], because I've had my shot at Roman Reigns many, many times. For one reason or another, it didn't work out. I almost don't want to even try, because I don't think that's what fans want. They've seen it. I'm here for the fans. I want people to enjoy what I'm doing."
"So, as much as I wish I could be champion and go for the title again, I don't think it's right. So, it's not in my plans."
It's a fair point and the match has been done to death at this stage. We would, however, like to see Owens get another stint at the top as WWE Champion.
Owens, whose real name is Kevin Steen, is a Canadian professional wrestler best known for his tenure in WWE. He's built a reputation as a versatile and charismatic performer and made his mark on the independent wrestling scene before joining WWE in 2014.
Owens quickly rose to prominence, winning the NXT Championship and later transitioning to the main roster where he defeated John Cena for the United States title. Known for his brawling style and athleticism, Owens has been involved in high-profile feuds, capturing the WWE Universal Championship and becoming a firm fan favourite in the process.
