Kevin Owens has been on something of a losing streak as of late and ended up taking another loss to Sami Zayn when they clashed at Hell in a Cell on Sunday.
Yesterday, the former Universal Champion took to Twitter to say, "I fought like hell. Now, I need a little break. I’ll be back soon. Thank you, guys." That sounds pretty ominous, right? Well, before you start fretting too much about Owens' in-ring future, we have an update courtesy of Dave Meltzer.
Despite convincingly selling an arm injury at the PPV, Melzter noted that "[Owens is] taking time off, but I was told it’s storyline-related."
There's no word on how long this will be for, but it seems like WWE may be planning to turn this streak of bad luck into...something. Hopefully, Owens will return to a main event position in the company because it feels a lot like WWE has struggled to find a place for him on RAW and SmackDown since he held the title and feuded with Chris Jericho a few years ago.
Honestly, we'd have zero issue with him returning to NXT to shake the Tuesday night show up a little...
