Last night's RAW was stacked and featured several King and Queen of the Ring matches. We learned before the show went on the air that Drew McIntyre had been pulled from the tournament because he's still not medically cleared to compete, leading to Jey Uso replacing him.
He defeated The Judgement Day's Finn Balor, while former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov managed to put down Ricochet during his official main roster debut.
We later got another banger of a match when Sheamus went one-on-one with Gunther. It was a hard-hitting affair that ended with an exhausted Sheamus collapsing after a Brogue Kick (due to an injured leg), allowing the Imperium leader to recover and tap him out with a Boston Crab.
Elsewhere in the show, Dakota Kai - who replaced Damage CTRL teammate Asuka due to injury - lost to Lyra Valkyria, while Zoey Stark triumphed over Ivy Nile. There was some good news for Kai's faction, though, as Iyo Sky defeated Natalya.
Interestingly, WWE also announced that Rey Mysterio vs. Kofi Kingston and Shayna Baszler vs. Zelina Vega are taking place at non-televised WWE Live events this week, an unexpected move which is bound to increase interest in house shows that typically have no impact on what we see on television.
It is, however, a shame that those bouts won't be aired on RAW because Mysterio vs. Kingston, in particular, would be fun to see.
A couple of other King and Queen of the Ring matches were also confirmed, with Sami Zayn set to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Bronson Reed and Chad Gable. Becky Lynch will also put her Women's World Championship on the line against Liv Morgan.
