Kofi Kingston has made a habit of finding inventive ways to escape elimination in the Royal Rumble match, but a botch on Saturday night saw him fail to stop his feet touching the ground when he attempted to leap to the barricade. Accidents happen, of course, and as it was caught on camera, WWE had no other choice than to treat the moment as a shoot.
Unfortunately, some "fans" have taken this opportunity to take aim at the former WWE Champion on social media, prompting Kingston to issue a lengthy response via his Instagram account.
"The past couple days on social media, I’ve gotten a lot of 'Why would you think that was even possible?' and 'Why would you even try that?'" he says below. "The answer to that question is quite easy: because of the potential reward. What if you were to succeed in overcoming what is deemed 'impossible'?"
"The sense of accomplishment felt when you beat the odds and brazenly defy the probabilities is purely ecstatic," Kingston continues. "Peoples questions then morph into ‘How in the world did you do that?!’ and ‘I never thought that would be possible!’ But alas, it was not to be...this time..."
The New Day member went on to explain why he's not sweating this failure, while the video accompanying the message shows many of the horrible Tweets that have been sent his way lately.
"And still if given another chance in choosing whether or not to make the attempt...I’d change nothing," he concluded. "No guts, no glory. No risk it, no biscuit. No pressure, no diamonds. You gotta bet it to get it. All the quotes...Many great rewards come to those who push the limits..."
