Kofi Kingston Retains The WWE Championship After A Grueling Match Against Daniel Bryan On RAW

Although they're both SmackDown LIVE Superstars, Kofi Kingston defended his WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan on Raw this week, and managed to retain despite an A+ effort from "The Planet's Champion"...

No, you haven't slipped into an alternate reality - this week's episode of Raw featured a SmackDown LIVE main event.

Vince McMahon made the announcement at the top of the show, and Kofi Kingston put his WWE Title on the line against Daniel Bryan in a pretty great match. The "Planet's Champion" came close on a number of occasions with some terrific chain wrestling submission moves, but in the end Kofi hit Trouble In Paradise out of nowhere for the 3-count.

It remains to be seen if Bryan is now out of the title picture altogether, but there are rumors that he may be inserted into the Kingston/Kevin Owens feud and compete in a number of triple-threat bouts over the next few weeks. Could we see him added to the Money in the Bank title match?

We should get a clearer picture after SmackDown LIVE this Tuesday.
