Kofi Kingston Retains The WWE Championship In A Triple-Threat Match On SMACKDOWN LIVE

Kofi Kingston is determined to prove that he's a fighting champion, and so far it's paid off for him. After successfully defending his title last night on Raw, he did the same tonight on SmackDown LIVE.

Never let it be said that Kofi Kingston is not a fighting champion!

After successfully defending the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan last night on Raw, the New Day member managed to retain again tonight on SmackDown LIVE in a pretty damn awesome Triple-Threat main event against Sami Zayn and AJ Styles.

All three Superstars got some near falls, but in the end Kevin Owens got involved by attacking Xavier Woods on the outside and the distraction almost led to Zayn picking up the win with a trifecta of Blue Thunder Bombs (someone should probably remind him that he's never pinned anyone with that move in WWE). However, Kofi recovered long enough to hit Trouble in Paradise and score the pin to keep hold of his title.
