Kofi Kingston Wins The 5-Man Gauntlet Match On SMACKDOWN... But Fails To Overcome Vince's Final Hurdle

We all figured Kofi Kingston would somehow survive tonight's Gauntlet Match, and while that is what happened, Vince McMahon was on hand to once again screw him out of his WrestleMania WWE Championship opportunity.

Kofi managed to get through both members of The Bar, Rowan (was got himself disqualified), Samoa Joe and Randy Orton, but just as his New Day teammates entered the ring to congratulate the 11-year veteran, Vince's music hit. The only way Kingston would get to 'Mania is if he got past one more opponent: WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

Despite a valiant effort, Kofi eventually fell victim to that devastating running knee.

Is this the end of Kofi's WrestleMania dream? One would assume not, as the plan is reportedly still for he and Bryan to face-off on the grandest stage of them all - but how he manages to wrangle another shot remains to be seen.
