If you watched TNA/Impact Wrestling back around the time Kurt Angle joined the roster, you'll no doubt recall that his first feud was against Samoa Joe, and both men tore the house down over a series of matches.

Tonight on Raw, that intense rivalry was revisited when the Olympic Gold Medalist took on The United States Champion as part of his current series of bouts leading to his retirement match at WrestleMania. Though this was far from a classic match, it served its purpose as Angle just about scraped out a victory with a roll-up pin. We also got a nice little callback to the TNA rivalry when Joe kicked things off with a vicious headbutt to Kurt's face.

Angle's farewell tour continues tomorrow night on SmackDown LIVE when he takes on another old Impact rival, AJ Styles.
