As of right now, WWE is in the midst of a storyline in which they're making Kurt Angle look like an over the hill has been who...will be "redeemed" in one match at WrestleMania?!
That's seemingly the way things seem to be heading anyway but during a recent Q&A, the Olympic Gold Medallis and Hall of Famer was asked to reflect on his most intense wrestling match. His answer was a bout that's widely considered one of his best: a 60 minute Iron Man match against Brock Lesnar on an episode of SmackDown Live that was being creatively overseen by Paul Heyman at the time.
"The one hour iron man match with Brock Lesnar," he replied. "It was intense… and so was Brock. Not to mention my sister passed away the night before. That match was 2 world class athletes going toe to toe for 60 mins. Intense."
It would be great fun seeing these two square off again but it's hard to say whether or not the WWE Hall of Famer's neck would be able to put up with a match against The Beast right now. Either way, it's no wonder Angle singled this one out and it's fair to say that WWE needs to start showing what else he has left in the tank.
