Last year, Kurt Angle was taken out by Drew McIntyre in what was described as a humiliating defeat for the Olympic Gold Medallist. Last night, Angle finally returned to action on RAW to square off with his old nemesis Baron Corbin and while it seemed like he had the win secured, things quickly went wrong.
After Corbin reversed the Ankle Lock, the former RAW Acting General Manager hit Angle with the Deep Six for the 1-2-3. He then returned to the ring to hit Angle with the End of Days, adding insult to injury. It's hard to say where WWE is heading with this storyline but it feels like it's building to something.
Perhaps Angle will redeem himself at the Showcase of the Immortals? We'll have to wait and see but burying him this way feels like a waste of Angle's talents. What do you think? Sound off below.
