While they may have divorced on television, Rusev and Lana obviously remained a happily married couple behind the scenes (despite the Ravishing Russian marrying Bobby Lashley on RAW). Of course, that storyline fell apart when it became clear Rusev was unhappy with how he was being booked, and WWE ended the storyline marriage between Lana and Lashley earlier this month.
Since then, the Bulgarian Brute has been granted his release from WWE, meaning he and Lana have been able to "announce" that they're together again.
The big news here, however, is the fact that Rusev's post-WWE in-ring name will be Miro. That's short for his full name, Miroslav Barnyashev. There's only a couple of weeks to go until he's a free agent and his non-compete clause with WWE reaches its end. He was among the Superstars released during WWE's COVID-19 budget cuts, though the difference is is that he wanted out of the company.
It's likely Miro will draw interest from every major company, including All Elite Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and IMPACT Wrestling. Where he'll end up remains to be seen, but he clearly has the potential to be a top star, and companies like those are bound to make that a reality.
