WWE has announced that Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, is heading into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2020 (which could mean we'll get another announcement about a celebrity for the Class of 2021 soon). The event takes place next Tuesday, April 6th, and you have to believe the Star Trek legend's speech will be a fun one!

Beloved by millions across the globe for his iconic take on James T. Kirk, the actor is also known for his work in TV shows like Rescue 911 and Boston Legal

His first trip to the WWE Universe came in 1995 as a special guest on Jerry "The King" Lawler's "King's Court." He sent "The King" flying with a monkey flip, and returned to RAW the following week to be in Bret Hart's corner for a showdown with Jeff Jarrett. He saw more action when he hit Road Dogg with an impressive right hand

Shatner later inducted Lawler into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, and was a special guest host on RAW in 2010. He's also served as the narrator for WWE Network's WWE Breaking Ground.

Whether that's enough to warrant a WWE Hall of Fame induction is up for debate, but he's definitely a legend and should bring a lot to the show.

Keep checking back here for updates on this year's ceremony!
