Could Bayley be the next Women's Intercontinental Champion?
Remember when WWE had both the IC and United States Women's Champion lose their Elimination Chamber qualifier matches? While it’s doubtful that Naomi will get her shot at Chelsea Green because she’s getting her butt whooped by Jade Cargill on a weekly basis, Bayley will rightfully get her opportunity for the Women's IC belt. Of course, Lyra Valkyria has to beat Raquel Rodriguez first.
Rodriguez has been on quite the roll since capturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. The RAW star beat Bayley last week in order to get her chance at becoming Raquel Two-belts. WWE has confirmed that Rodriguez will get the opportunity to challenge for the IC title on next week’s RAW.
Should Valkyria beat Rodriguez then Bayley will get her shot. It’s not clear if it’s a WrestleMania match or not. Bayley has kind of been on a slump since losing the WWE Women’s Championship to Nia Jax at Summerslam 2024. She’s challenged for the prestigious world title on several occasions and failed to regain it. She’s also fought for the NXT Women’s Championship recently and couldn't get the job done as well.
Bayley was even in the United States Championship tournament and lost to the current champ, Chelsea Creen. But just because Bayley has struggled to win a title recently doesn’t mean that she won’t be able to capture the belt next week. Bayley did beat Valkyria clean in the ring when they first met, so she definitely has the opportunity to do so again.
Though with WrestleMania being so close, it would be surprising if any title changes hands. But with the roll that Raquel Rodriguez is on, her winning is a stronger possibility. Lyra doesn’t particularly have a feud going on at the moment, so anything is surely possible especially after the chaotic last few weeks. Nevertheless, it should be a good match between these two ladies. Hopefully, they're given some good amount of time to really put on a memorable match.
