If you watched The Mae Young Classic Tournament all the way through, you will surely remember Candice LaRae. The 32-year-old independent star - who just so happens to be married to new NXT Championship #1 contender Johnny Gargano - may not have won the tournament, but she kicked plenty of ass in three terrific matches and emerged as a firm fan-favourite.

Now, WWE has officially announced that LaRae has signed with the company, and will report to the Performance Center very soon.

Standing at just 5-foot-2, LeRae is known for not backing down from anyone, no matter how much bigger they may be. The spunky Superstar has even battled heavyweights like Kevin Owens and Cesaro. LeRae’s tenacity and ability to endure punishment was on full display in the Mae Young Classic and will make her a competitor to watch at the WWE Performance Center.

Could Candice be a surprise entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match, perhaps?
