We've been hearing conflicting reports about whether Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar at this year's WrestleMania will be a title vs. title match, with it most recently claimed the idea has been dropped. However, The Beast vowed to win the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber during Monday's RAW and made it clear he's looking to hold both that and the Universal title.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirms that title vs. title plans had been dropped, but the feeling now is that Vince McMahon wants to make this titanic clash even bigger.
This obviously means Lesnar is walking out of Elimination Chamber with Bobby Lashley's WWE Championship, and when he faces Reigns at the Show of Shows, one of them will hold both titles. We'd put money on that being the Head of the Table as he's a full-time Superstar and having him appear on both RAW and SmackDown would help ratings and make the networks happy.
Both Lesnar and Paul Heyman have reportedly been pushing for this backstage and WWE is said to have lots of ideas for the storyline heading into this year's Showcase of the Immortals.
WWE's creative may not be at its best right now, but this feud has been compelling since the start. As a result, it's no wonder th company is looking to capitalise on that with the biggest match possible.
