Roman Reigns retained the Universal Championship against John Cena at SummerSlam, but ended up being confronted by a returning Brock Lesnar. It's clear The Beast wants the Head of the Table's title, while Paul Heyman will now have to decide whether to be an Advocate or Special Counsel to the Tribal Chief!
After the PPV went off the air, Lesnar attacked Cena in an angle meant to write him off television. That was actually shown on RAW, but despite the fact the Leader of the Cenation returned to WWE as a fan-favourite babyface, this was not meant to signal that Lesnar is a heel.
In fact, PWInsider.com is reporting that Lesnar is a) officially considered a babyface and b) set to be part of SmackDown. This is actually the first time he's been booked in a non-heel role since the early 2000s, and while the former WWE Champion has occasionally received a babyface reaction from fans in recent years, he's always been considered a heel within WWE.
Lesnar is set to appear during tomorrow night's episode of SmackDown, as is Becky Lynch (who, bizarrely, is expected to be booked as a heel after defeating Bianca Belair for the brand's Women's Championship).
It's certainly going to be interesting seeing what Lesnar brings to the table as a babyface character in WWE; many believe The Beast will simply be fed to Reigns on his journey to potentially facing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at next year's WrestleMania, but time will obviously tell on that front.
Are you excited to see this new Brock Lesnar in action?
