WrestlingNews.co has shared an update on Daniel Bryan's WWE status, and it's said that he's currently resting at home with his family after an intense few months feuding with Edge and Universal Champion Roman Reigns. As for WWE, those high up in the company are reportedly confident that the Leader of the Yes Movement will step back into the ring for the company soon.
"There is no bad blood, no grudge from either side and Vince thinks he will be back but he just needs time to recharge his batteries," one source tells the site.
The site goes on to explain that money isn't believed to be an issue, and that Bryan is happy with how the company has treated him since he was cleared to return to action in 2018. "We are ready to have him back in a big match at SummerSlam," they note. "Vince loves the guy and he has a full-time job behind-the-scenes ready for him when the time comes for him to retire."
The only issue WWE could run into is the fact that Bryan is keen to wrestle outside the company, possibly returning to Japan to do so. That's not something they're likely to get on board with as giving the former WWE Champion that sort of freedom would set a precedent Vince McMahon is unlikely to be on board with.
Bryan ultimately returning to WWE does seem likely, but it's hard to shake the feeling that he could make a surprise appearance for the likes of All Elite Wrestling or New Japan Pro Wrestling...
